Recently, Mary officially opened the School Sport Australia National Soccer Championship, at Hawker Oval.
While welcoming the participants, most of whom were from interstate, Mary pointed out that participation in soccer was very strong in Canberra and that it was the fastest growing sport in the region.
“I have been, and continue to be, a big advocate of Capital Football, and especially Canberra United,” Mary said. “I congratulate the CEO of Capital Football, Ms Heather Reid, for the admirable work she is doing.”
