You may recall I held discussion forums and sought submissions on the need for a clear legal framework which sets out the rights and obligations of a Retirement Village resident and Operators alike, whilst also improving consumer protection. Following this research, I developed a Discussion Paper (pdf) outlining numerous concerns associated with the current governance of retirement villages in the ACT and how other jurisdictions have acted to overcome these issues.

The Discussion Paper makes 31 recommendations and I encourage your feedback.
