Recently Mary was made local Patron of the CAT Awards.

The CAT Awards are the Canberra and Area Theatre Awards at the Canberra Theatre Awards and Mary was able to secure the organisation sponsorship from Telstra Countrywide when it looked like the Awards would fold for lack of a major sponsor.

It was amateur theatre's night of nights. The major winner on the Award night was the Belconnen based company Phoenix Players who scooped the pool collecting 5 major awards. In addition, Best Set Design went to Belinda Anoys and Lyndelle Ramset, Best Actor in a Musical to Adam Moyniham and Best Director of a Musical also to Belinda Anoys, all from Phoenix.

The Gold CAT went to actor, director, theatre photographer and arts administrator Rhys Holden. Mary with Graham Robertson, winner of 2 CAT Awards, best actor in a leading role in a play and best perfomance by an ACT senior.
