An ACT Government Media Release
Mary Porter AM MLA, August 22, 2010 REFURBISHED HALL TO PLEASE VILLAGE RESIDENTSToday, Ms Mary Porter MLA, Member for Ginninderra, officially launched the newly refurbished Community Facilities at Hall Village. “The Hall Pavilion was a centre of Hall Village social life in the mid-sixties, and has been beautifully refurbished,” Ms Porter said. “Not only is it a wonderful facility, but it serves to protect an important piece of community history for generations to come. “The Pavilion is also available for hire by the public for recreational and social events, and will be a great asset to the community.” The total cost of the refurbishment was $440,000 and was funded by the ACT Government as part of the Regional Community Facilities Project. “These refurbishments are not limited to the Hall Pavilion, as the Headmasters Cottage and all-weather tennis court have also been upgraded,” said Ms Porter who was representing the Chief Minister Jon Stanhope at the event. The Headmasters Cottage, surrounded by picturesque gardens has received a general upgrade and is now available for smaller functions and meetings. The adjoining tennis court has also now been reconditioned and is available for public use. “The assistance of the Village of Hall and District Progress Association was pivotal in achieving such an excellent outcome,” Ms Porter commended. The launch of the newly refurbished Community Facilities at the Hall Pavilion was followed by a Sunday afternoon concert by the Hall Village Brass Band. Statement Ends »
