PORTER PRAISES PENNIES FOR PatCH 2010

    An ACT Government Media Release

Mary Porter AM MLA, June 1, 2010

PORTER PRAISES PENNIES FOR PatCH 2010

Today, Mary Porter MLA, Member for Ginninderra, launched the annual Pennies for PatCH campaign for Paediatrics at the Canberra Hospital.

“We are pleased that Westpac Banks in the ACT and Queanbeyan are again supporting the campaign and the aim this year is to raised in excess of the $30,000 collected last year for Paediatrics at the Canberra Hospital (PatCH),” Ms Porter said.

Julie Elliott, Regional General Manager for Westpac ACT was at the launch and said "Westpac ACT is again delighted to be involved with Pennies for PatCH. All of our team and branches are right behind this effort,”
“The support of the community in events such as Pennies for PatCH helps to maintain the excellent standard of medical care the Canberra hospital provides to children of Canberra and the surrounding regions,” Ms Porter asserted.
“This is the second year of our involvement and we wholeheartedly believe in the work of the Paediatrics unit at the Canberra Hospital. Over the past year we have developed a strong partnership with the Canberra Hospital because it makes a real difference to the lives of Canberrans and their families every day,” Ms Elliot said.
“This is a campaign that the whole community can get behind”, Ms Porter said “after all we are only asking people to donate their small change, as we know, every cent counts!”
“Its easy, people can deposit their 20 cent pieces into the collection containers at Westpac Branches throughout the ACT and Queanbeyan during the month of June”.
